Tottenham expert ‘angry’ as Dejan Kulusevski hits out at journalist – ‘blatantly wrong’
Dejan Kulusevski is right to take aim at a football writer who criticised his move to Tottenham.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On May 29, Kulusevski, 22, posted a compilation of his time at Tottenham on his Instagram page.
The video includes a screenshot of a scathing tweet from football writer Carlo Garganese.
On 13 February, Garganese took aim at Spurs for signing Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, criticising both players and the club’s decision to sign them for “€70million”.
Wenham insists Kulusevski is right to take aim at Garganese for his “blatantly wrong” tweet.
“That tweet really angered me at the time it was sent because it isn’t fair, at all,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It is also blatantly wrong. The tweet said €70million, from my understanding we have paid £16million for Bentancur which is spread over the next five years.
“Then there is a small loan fee for Kulusevski so I’m really not sure where he has pulled that number from.
“You have this journalist who clearly supports Juve having a go at two former players who are thriving in the Premier League while his side can’t win Serie A.
“To me, Bentancur is already worth double what we paid. I’m sure Kulusevski took issue with the tweet and I have no problem with what he did.
“Some guy said something completely wrong and Kulusevski is getting his own back, good on him.”

Kulusevski and Bentancur joined Spurs in January.
They both became key members of Antonio Conte’s side in the second half of the season.
