Tottenham expert ‘annoyed’ amid Ivan Perisic development – ‘it’s utterly ridiculous’
Ivan Perisic should already be back at Tottenham as the World Cup’s third-fourth playoff is “pointless”.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Perisic, 33, has been a standout player for Croatia at the Qatar World Cup, starting all six of his country’s games before they crashed out at the semi-final stage.

The versatile left-sided attacker has scored once and provided two assists at the tournament, carrying on from his excellent start to the season with Spurs.
He will now play in the third-fourth playoff on Saturday (17 December) extending his absence from Hotspur Way.
Wenham has been left fuming by this development.
“It was a brilliant tournament for Ivan,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He cemented his legacy as a legend of Croatian football. He levelled with Davor Suker for goals at major tournaments which is huge for him.
“It means he can come back to Tottenham with a bit of a boosted reputation. I’m just annoyed he can’t come back sooner.
“The third-fourth playoff must be the most pointless game in football. Absolutely no one cares about it. The players don’t want to play it.
“It’s such a waste of time. We could get Perisic back a few days earlier but instead, he is still in Qatar getting ready to play a game no one is bothered by. It’s utterly ridiculous.

“I didn’t watch England when they played Belgium in the third-fourth playoff four years ago.
“It’s so pointless.”
