Tottenham expert backs Tanguy Ndombele to join Napoli for ‘nothing’ after ‘surprise’ development

Tanguy Ndombele is now more likely to leave Tottenham next summer after an eye-catching few weeks on loan at Napoli.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On 19 August, Tottenham confirmed that Ndombele, 25, had joined Napoli on loan for the 2022-23 season.

He has now made 11 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring once in a Champions League clash against Rangers.

Wenham claims a permanent exit for the midfielder could now happen.

“Ndombele has actually played a bit which I have to say is a surprise,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I watched the Napoli v Ajax game which came before our clash with Frankfurt on Wednesday night. He came on at half-time and won a penalty.

“There seems to be some talk in Italy that they are pretty happy with him. It helps that Napoli are top of the league and they are flying in the Champions League too.

“It would be a dream for me if he went for nothing at the end of the season. I know they have a £30million buy option but even now I would take nothing for him just to get his £200k-a-week wages off the bill for the next two years.

“Hopefully he keeps impressing.”

Ndomebele made just 13 appearances for Tottenham during the 2021/22 campaign.

He played just seven times under Antonio Conte before being shipped out on loan to Lyon.
