Tottenham expert: Bryan Gil could be about to join Premier League club
Tottenham should loan Bryan Gil to Marseille this summer as any other move would be “an utter waste of time”.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Gil, 21, has failed to make an impact at Spurs since he joined the club in the summer of 2021.
He was shipped out on loan to Valencia in January and went on to make 17 total appearances for the club, failing to score and only registering one assist.
He has been linked loan moves to a plethora of clubs this summer but, as per Tottenham, has been included in the squad for the club’s pre-season tour of South Korea.
Wenham wants the winger to join Marseille as they will be playing Champions League football next season.
“The move I would like for him is Marseille,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They are in the Champions League, clubs who aren’t playing in that competition would be an utter waste of time for him.
“For me, he has to be at a Champions League club in another country or a Premier League club, that’s it.
“There have been some links to clubs that don’t fit that criteria and I just wonder what the point would be.
“There is no point in him going back to Spain and not playing in the Champions League, he has done it over there, we know he can do it.

“He would gain nothing from that experience.
“Marseille would be the one from all of the links I have seen but we will have to see how he does in pre-season.”
