Tottenham expert can’t believe what he’s seen from Ivan Perisic
Ivan Perisic is “world-class” and could be crucial to any success at Tottenham during the 2022-23 season.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Perisic, 33, made his first appearance for Spurs in Saturday’s (23 July) 2-1 win over Rangers at Ibrox.
He had been unable to feature in his new side’s pre-season games in South Korea after failing to overcome an injury.
The veteran wide man was Antonio Conte’s first signing of the summer, arriving on a free transfer after failing to agree fresh terms with Inter Milan.
Wenham is “beyond excited” to see how Perisic can make an impact in the Premier League.
“Perisic is a player I am looking forward to seeing after seeing him arrive so early in the window,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Becuase we signed him so early and it was a free transfer, it feels like it has been downplayed a little bit.
“But I actually think he is a genuine world-class player we have added to the squad in the position that we were probably the weakest in.
“We have added that left wing-back now and he got some great numbers last season. I want to see him delivering those balls into Kane, Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski.
“That could be a real asset for us this season, I am beyond excited.”

Perisic made 49 appearances for Inter during the 2021-22 campaign.
He scored 10 goals and provided nine assists.
