Tottenham expert: Dejan Kulusevski backed to complete permanent move
Alan Hutton has backed Dejan Kulusevski to join Tottenham permanently.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender said a deal hinges on whether the next manager wants to sign Kulusevski.
The 23-year-old joined the London club from Juventus in January 2022 on an 18-month loan that expires at the end of the month and includes an option to buy.
According to the Evening Standard (31 May), Tottenham intend to take up the option in the coming months despite passing up on the chance to convert his loan for £26million last summer.
Kulusevski and interim boss Ryan Mason both shared their uncertainty over the Sweden international’s future following their final game of the season, claiming they didn’t know if he’d still be at the club next season.
When asked if keeping the winger permanently is a good deal for Spurs, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think he has been a shining light, I think he has done really well.
“When I first saw him I thought he maybe looked a yard slow but he makes up for that with his talent and how clever he is and his movement and stuff. Plus he is probably not as slow as what I thought.
“I can see why they want to make it permanent.

“But again, what manager is there? Do they want to make it permanent? How much are they going to pay at the moment?
“I do not really see him having a future at Juventus so I think it would be a good deal if they can get him for the right price.“
