Tottenham expert: Dejan Kulusevski ‘signing long term’ after ‘99% done reveal’

Alan Hutton has urged Tottenham to sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent deal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said Kulusevski is an “integral part” of Antonio Conte’s team.

The 22-year-old joined the London club in January 2022 on an 18 month loan-to-buy deal which runs until this summer.

It has been widely reported that the Lilywhites are obliged to pay £30million to parent club Juventus if he plays at least 45 minutes of 20 Premier League games and they finish in the top four this season.

On 4 March, Football Insider revealed that Spurs will push ahead with signing the Sweden international even if the clauses in the loan are not met.

It is believed that Kulusevski’s permanent transfer is “99 per cent done”.

The winger has made 26 appearances for Conte’s side across all competitions this season and has scored two goals and provided six assists in those outings.

When asked if Tottenham will be desperate to sign Kulusevski on a permanent deal, Hutton told Football Insider:I think he has proved to everyone that he is more than capable.

A lot of people did not really know much about him before he came. He just gives them something that they have not got there already.

He is not the quickest player but he gets by people, he makes things happen, he scores goals.

I think he is definitely an integral part of that team moving forward and is somebody that they will want to sign for the long term and keep him within the squad.
