Tottenham expert digs at Lewis Dunk after analysing Harry Kane controversy

Tottenham striker Harry Kane “puts himself about” but he is not a dirty player.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

In the early stages of Saturday’s (16 April) game, Kane, 28, went into the back of Lewis Dunk while chasing a pass back to Robert Sanchez.

Dunk went down clutching his lower back but no foul was given, nor was Kane given a yellow card.

The Brighton man was able to play the rest of the game but several Seagulls fans were up in arms on social media.

Wenham has no problem with how Kane plays and compared him to Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer.

“Kane puts himself about a bit, so did many of the great strikers,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Alan Shearer was the master at letting people know he was there early in a game.

“I know what gets said about Kane but I have no problem with what he did.

“I think Dunk makes the most of that and the referee was right to not blow up for a foul or caution Kane.”

Kane failed to score as Brighton fought to grab a late 1-0 win in a blow to Tottenham’s top-four hopes.

Spurs are next in action against London rivals Brentford on Saturday (23 April).

In other news, Kevin Campbell has named the three Tottenham players who will clinch their top-four finish ahead of Arsenal.
