
Tottenham expert excited by Pape Matar Sarr after ‘brilliant’ training ground reveal
John Wenham can’t wait to see Pape Matar Sarr make his Tottenham debut in South Korea.
Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, hs been delighted by what he has seen from the youngster.
Sarr, 19, joined Tottenham in August 2021 but is yet to make his debut for the club after spending last season on loan at Metz in Ligue 1.
According to Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold (19 June), Conte is yet to make a decision on Sarr for the 2022-23 campaign and will assess him in pre-season.
Sarr was confirmed to be included in the Spurs squad that has flown to South Korea for the club’s pre-season tour.
Wenham has been impressed with Sarr’s involvement since returning to Hotspur Way.
“Sarr has been back at Hotspur Way and instantly involved in first-team training which was brilliant to see,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He featured for Senegal in their recent games so he actually came back early. It’s a really good first impression from him and I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in South Korea.
“Hopefully he can make his debut and we can see the player we have got. We haven’t actually seen too much of him.
“On paper, he was a lot of the attributes Conte likes in a player. He is a bit of an unknown quantity so we will see what he has to offer.”

Sarr made 34 appearances for Metz in 2021-22.
He scored once and provided three assists for his teammates.
