Tottenham expert fumes at Harry Kane after speaking to first-team source – ‘unbelievable’

Harry Kane must put his ego to one side and Heung-Min Son put in charge of free-kick duties at Tottenham.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Kane, 29, has only scored one direct free-kick during his time as a Tottenham player, a deflected effort against Aston Villa on 2 November 2014.

During this time, Heung-Min Son has scored several free kicks for his national side with the latest coming on 23 September against Costa Rica.

“Another Sonny free-kick. It once again begs the question, why is Harry Kane taking Tottenham’s free kicks? I don’t know,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Sonny seems to score a free kick every time he goes away with South Korea. I think he has scored four or five in his last seven, something like that.

“He needs to be taking them for Tottenham. Someone needs to pull Harry aside and tell him that we need to try something different.

“I’m not just talking about once or twice, Sonny needs to be taking free-kicks all the time. I think he would score a couple and that would add more arsenal to our attack.

“It’s just ridiculous. Other clubs are chipping in with five or ten goals a season with free-kicks. I have actually spoken to one of the academy keepers at Tottenham.

“I had to ask, because it has been bothering me no end. I asked, is Harry scoring loads of free kicks in training? Is that why he takes all the free kicks? I would understand that.

“He said no. A goalkeeper in first-team training now has told me that Sonny is scoring free-kicks in training. I cannot understand it.”
