Tottenham expert hails Kion Etete after club source’s ‘remarkable’ update
Tottenham striker Kion Etete has been hailed as “remarkable” after a club source shared an update on his future.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 31 March Football Insider revealed Tottenham have opened preliminary talks with a Championship club over a loan deal for Etete ahead of next season.
A club source revealed the Londoners are delighted with the progress of the 20-year-old on the back of loans at Northampton in League Two and Cheltenham in League One this term.
The club are now planning for Etete to play one division higher in the second tier next season.
Wenham is delighted by this development and hopes he can stay with Cheltenham next season if they get promoted.
“He’s done League One and Two this year so it makes sense,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He settled into League One seamlessly. Hopefully Cheltenham can go up and he can stay with them but I think we will have to wait and see on that.
“I’ve spoken about him a lot this season and it was really unlucky when he got his injury and that first loan spell had to be cut short.
“So to see him come back from that and heading into the Championship next season is remarkable.”

Etete scored six goals for Northampton during the first half of the season.
He has made 33 appearances across his two loan spells this term.
