Tottenham expert hails Levy negotiating skill as medical underway
Daniel Levy deserves credit with Steven Bergwijn on his way out of Tottenham.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As per The Athletic’s David Ornstein on Wednesday (6 July), Bergwijn is having a medical ahead of a permanent switch to Ajax.

He will join the club for £25million after struggling to nail down a regular starting spot at Spurs since joining the club from PSV in January 2020.
Wenham has hailed Levy’s involvement in the deal.
“I’m delighted,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It sounds like Levy led the negotiations. This went on for a very long time and I hope it was made clear to Ajax that they were going to need to pay the money or they won’t get him.
“Ajax have finally coughed up the money despite valuing their players incredibly highly. So we have got all of our money back on him.
“There is another £2million in add-ons included in the deal. The main fee will be paid in instalments.
“I think Levy leading the negotiations ensured that we got an appropriate and fair fee.
“I expect Bergwijn to do extremely well over in Holland, he will get 22 or more goals next season. I think he could move again in a few windows time.”

Bergwijn’s last Premier League start for Tottenham came on 23 January in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea.
He was regularly used off the bench in the second half in the 2021-22 season but rarely appeared for more than 15 minutes.
