Tottenham expert issues ‘big’ Bryan Gil claim after ‘just incredible’ development

Bryan Gil can be a “big” player for Tottenham in the second half of the Premier League season.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Gil has started Tottenham’s last two Premier League games after barely featuring for the first team this season.

Before his recent appearances, the 21-year-old winger had only one Premier League outing to his name this season, a 6-minute cameo against Bournemouth on 29 October.

He has now made eight appearances in all competitions this term, featuring most prominently in the Champions League, where he has made four appearances off the bench.

Wenham is expecting big things from the youngster.

“I’m really pleased that young Bryan Gil is starting to make an impact,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“To not just play in games but to make an impact. He was involved in the buildup to our first goal against Palace even though that was another Ivan Perisic assist.

“Gil got the assist for the second goal, the finish from Kane was something you don’t see often in the Premier League.

“Gil has been getting the game time but he hasn’t necessarily impacted the games in the way people wanted him to.

“Now he’s beginning to do that which is just incredible not only for him but for Tottenham as well.

We are starting to see a return on the investment we made.

“I sincerely hope he can have a big impact in the second half of the season.

“He is capable.”
