Tottenham expert issues ‘big’ Bryan Gil prediction after ‘surprise’ development

Bryan Gil could be on the verge of exploding at Tottenham after finally starting a Premier League match.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Gil has started Tottenham’s last two Premier League games after barely featuring for the first team this season.

Before his recent appearances, the 21-year-old winger had only one Premier League outing to his name this season, a 6-minute cameo against Bournemouth on 29 October.

He has now made eight appearances in all competitions this term, featuring most prominently in the Champions League, where he has made four appearances off the bench.

“There are two ways of looking at this,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s finally started a game but that’s because he needed to, not because he’s earned it. We have injuries to our two left-sided attackers so he’s had to come in there.

“The second argument is that Conte wouldn’t lay anyone who he didn’t think was good enough so he must be offering something.

“Either way, exposure to the first team can only be good for him and for Tottenham. I think he will stay at the club now that would not be a surprise.

“I have seen enough from him to suggest he won’t be going out on loan anywhere.

He has a huge chance to impress now and I hope for his sake that he can.”
