Tottenham expert issues Fabio Paratici claim after ‘utterly bizarre’ development

John Wenham has “absolutely no problem” with Fabio Paratici’s half-time outburst during Tottenham v Newcastle.

Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, reacted to the “utterly bizarre” scenes.

Paratici, 49, was caught in a fracas with the fourth official just after the half-time whistle was blown in Sunday’s (3 April) game against Newcastle, leading to more commotion in the tunnel.

Wenham insists the Spurs director always wears his heart on his sleeve and he admitted he has no problem with his actions.

“He always gets involved in these situations,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I remember a couple of times in pre-season he encroached onto the pitch to let the referee know about a few things.

“He was swiftly reminded he is not the manager and he can’t get involved like that.

“He’s a heart on his sleeve kind of guy, that’s just who he is. I have absolutely no problem with it whatsoever.

“I see Davinson Sanchez was leading him away from the situation which was utterly bizarre to see.

“You would think it would be the other way around with a player involved and a director pulling him away.

“That’s just how it goes. That’s who Paratici is and a lot of credit has to go to him for his January business.

“He’s earned a bit of leeway really.”
