Tottenham expert issues ‘ridiculous’ Ryan Sessegnon claim as personal terms agreed on transfer
Ryan Sessegnon’s improvement is “exciting” for Tottenham after a dazzling performance against Southampton.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Sessegnon, 22, scored Tottenham’s first goal in their season-opening 4-1 win over Southampton on Saturday (6 August).
On Tuesday (9 August) Football Insider revealed Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Italy Under 21 left-back Destiny Udogie after having a £20million buy-to-loan bid accepted by Udinese.
With Udogie set to arrive at Spurs in the summer of 2023, Wenham insists Sessegnon mus impress this season if he wants to stay at the club.
“Sessegnon actually had a couple of other chances as well,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“As soon as the second half kicked off we scored another goal but it was ruled out for offside. The finish on it was ridiculous, he curled it into the bottom corner.
“He was arriving into the box on other occasions as well. He actually had one of his better games for Tottenham.
“His game was very advanced and was really offering something. That’s really exciting to see because he will be aware of Spurs’ chase for Udogie and Perisic is there as well.
“So he has to have a really good season and an injury-free season as well.”

Sessegnon has made 34 appearances for Spurs since joining the club from Fulham in August 2019.
That defender first caught the eye in the Champions during the 2017-18 season as he scored 15 times in 46 outings.
