Tottenham expert makes ‘record-breaking’ Harry Kane claim after ‘huge’ reveal
The Harry Kane transfer saga with Tottenham could be set to last the length of the summer transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs defender Alan Hutton has claimed that Harry Kane must choose between trophies or the Premier League goal record with his next transfer move.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (8 July) that Spurs have offered their star man a “jaw-dropping” new contract as they look to tie him down beyond his current 2024 expiry.
But Kane has no plans to sign it before the window shuts with a drawn-out stalemate now on the cards.
The England skipper is encouraged by Bayern’s desire to sign him and is believed to be keen to join them in the coming weeks.
With a potential move on the cards, Hutton believes that Kane will sacrifice the all-time Premier League goal scoring record if he joins Bayern and leaves Spurs.
“He won’t be able to break Alan Shearer’s record if he leaves,” He told Football insider.
“If he goes Bayern for two or three seasons it would become extremely difficult for him to break the record.

“But with an opportunity to go to Bayern, where year in and year out they are competing for the biggest trophies, it is obviously going to be difficult for him to turn down. It’s a huge deal.
“So he has the goal record one hand, and trophies in the other so it will be interesting to see what he chooses.”
