Tottenham expert makes ‘utter disaster’ claim after Tanguy Ndombele update

Tottenham are stuck in an “utter disaster of a situation” as they try to offload Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

That is the view of Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside (13 July), the 25-year-old’s agents are in talks with

The Frenchman rejoined former side Olympique Lyonnais on loan in January, with the Ligue 1 outfit finishing a disappointing eighth.

Wenham suggested Tottenham would have to wait until the last days of the window to get him out the door in what is likely to be another temporary switch.

Asked what he expects to happen with Ndombele this summer, Wenham told Football Insider’s Ben Wild: “I think he’ll leave on loan on the very last day of the window to a real underwhelming French club.

“Way below the levels of Lyon and teams like that. Somewhere like a Bordeaux, Guingamp, St Etienne, though I’m not even sure they’re in the top level any more.

“Someone really lower down the level where Tottenham are paying all his wages and another year of his contract’s gone. It’s a farce of a situation we’re trapped in, with him on £200,000-a-week and three years to go. It’s an utter disaster of a situation.”

Ndomebele made just 13 appearances for Tottenham during the 2021/22 campaign.

He played just seven times under Antonio Conte before being shipped out on loan.
