Tottenham expert on Heung-Min Son potentially being axed – ‘I expect…’
Heung-Min Son will start for Tottenham when they face Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday (13 September).
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham face Sporting after winning their opening Champions League game of the season 2-0 against Marseille (7 September).
Son started that game but once against failed to register a goal contribution as his slow start to the season continued.
Richarlison, who is direct competition for the South Korean, scored twice.
Despite a failure to score from seven games this season, Wenham is still expecting Son to keep his place in the starting XI.
“I think some people may have a problem with that [rotation],” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“For me, as I keep saying, Son won the golden boot last season. When he gets his first goal, the rest will come.
“You can’t take him out of the side now because, when he does score, he is such an influx of goals.
“His all-round play has been much-improved in recent games as well so I would definitely be keeping him in the starting lineup.
“He will score eventually, it’s just a slow start. It happened to Harry last season. I’m not worried. I expect Conte will keep him in as well.
“He knows how good Son is so you can expect him to stay in the side even with Richarlison and Kulusevski playing so well.”

Sporting beat Portimonense 4-0 on Saturday (10 September) and beat Frankfurt 3-0 in their first Champions League game of the season (7 September).
Tottenham’s game against Man City, scheduled for Saturday (10 September) was postponed.
