Tottenham expert: Richarlison could be out for longer than expected amid injury latest

Tottenham star Richarlison could miss more football than previously thought amid his latest injury blow.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

The winger picked up a hamstring injury in the warm-up before Brazil’s quarter-final defeat to Croatia but managed to play 84 minutes before he was withdrawn.

Richarlison was not included in the squad for Spurs’ 1-1 friendly dRicharlison’s latest raw with Nice on Wednesday (21 December).

Football Insider medical expert Ben Dinnery has claimed (14 December) the forward may not be fit to feature for Antonio Conte’s side until 2023 – with a “four-week” layoff possible.

Wenham has been left frustrated with this latest blow.

“If you remember, he missed four weeks of action before the World Cup too,”

“We only just got him back right before the tournament and then he goes away and plays like that. It’s so frustrating because he has done his best stuff since signing for us while not playing for us.

“Now it’s another layoff at a vital time in the season. Now it’s about not rushing him back and making sure he is ready to go when he comes back.

“We might even keep him off longer than we need to so there is no chance of him aggravating this injury when he does return.

“That might be sensible, as we can’t afford to keep missing him for months at a time.

“We all just want to see him scoring goals for Tottenham.”
