Tottenham expert shares ‘big’ Dejan Kulusevski claim after star man injury blow

Bryan Gil could be brought back into the fold at Tottenham after another injury blow to Dejan Kulusevski.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Gil, 21, was afforded rare minutes in a Tottenham shirt in both of his side’s games against Frankfurt in the Champions League, coming off the bench in both games to play a combined total of 12 minutes.

The Spaniard, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, has not played a minute of Premier League football this season.

On Saturday (22 October), Jordan Cronin reported Kulusevski will miss Sunday’s (23 October) game against Newcastle.

Wenham claims Gil could now be given a chance to shine.

“It was nice to see him come on against Frankfurt and he looked bright,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He did well to win the penalty and right now we do not know when Kulusevski is going to be back, hopefully it isn’t too long because we have missed him for a while now.

“Gil, maybe a chance in the first team is what he needs. He has barely played this season and there must be a reason for that.

“Maybe Conte has seen something or maybe he just wanted to keep him around for this busy October. Who knows?

“This is big and could be his big chance but I still think he needs a loan move.”

Gil made 20 appearances for Spurs last season before joining Valencia.

He failed to score and only provided one assist in those outings.
