Tottenham expert shares ‘big’ Troy Parrott claim after Preston latest – ‘they love him there’

Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott can still make a success of his Preston North End loan despite struggling in front of goal.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Parrott has been sidelined since early October but has now returned to training ahead of the second half of the season.

The 20-year-old joined Preston on loan on 25 July and has so far made thirteen Championship appearances, scoring one goal.

Wenham insists Parrott has to score more goals in the second half of the season if he is to make a success of his career.

“His personal goal needs to be scoring more goals,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is constant talk that they love him down there. They love his work rate. But at the end of the day, he is an out-and-out striker and he is valued on his ability to score goals.

“Every time he is available, he starts. They really do like him down there but goals are hard to come by at the moment.

“He only has two goals this season, one in the league and one in the Carabao Cup. So he has to get his head down and start scoring some big goals for Preston as they look to get up the table.

“There are a lot of games to play and he could score a lot of goals, it’s up to him now.”

While on loan at MK Dons in the 2021-22 season, Parrott made 46 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals.

The striker was used in a deeper number 10 role, limiting his goalscoring chances.
