Tottenham expert shares ‘huge’ Bryan Gil claim after what he saw in person this week
Bryan Gil now has a “huge” chance to make himself part of the furniture at Tottenham.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Gil, 21, was afforded rare minutes in a Tottenham shirt in his side’s games against Sporting Lisbon and Frankfurt in the Champions League, coming off the bench in three games to play a combined total of 36 minutes.
He was also given his first Premier League minutes of the season as Tottenham beat Bournemouth 3-2 on Saturday (29 October).
Spurs completed their comeback while Gil made his 6-minute cameo.
Wenham now wants to see the winger play more minutes after watching him in person.
“The only positive I took from our recent draw against Sporting was Bryan Gil’s cameo,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He causes problems, he’s small and diminutive and when he gets on the ball he just runs at you. He has those quick feet that cause issues for opposition defenders.
“Either take him out or he gets past you. I really do want to see him featuring more often now. While we haven’t got Kulusevski, Gil is a genuine option for us.
“Even if he comes on for the last half an hour of Premier League games, now is his chance. I want to see him used far more.
“He has a huge chance to stake a claim now.”

Gil made 20 appearances for Spurs last season before joining Valencia.
He failed to score and only provided one assist in those outings.
