Tottenham expert would ‘love’ Conor Gallagher move after source’s reveal
Chelsea star Conor Gallagher would make an excellent addition to Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Spurs and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson admitted he “would love” to see Gallager, 24, move to North London.
Sources have told Football Insider (15 March) that Chelsea are “likely” to sell the England international this summer due to their Profit and Sustainability pressures.
While Chelsea and Gallagher have held talks regarding an extension, well-placed sources have revealed to Football Insider (9 March) that negotiations have stalled as they have been unable to discuss an improved deal due to the level of their financial issues.
Expert wants Conor Gallagher to quit Chelsea for Tottenham
Robinson, who is well-placed with his former side, feels Spurs are well-positioned to make a move for the Chelsea man.
“Tottenham’s transfer plans will be different depending on where they finish,” he told the Inside Track podcast.
“With where Tottenham are now with Ange Postcoglou, I think the Gallagher deal is the easier because there will be fewer suitors for him.
“But I would love him at Tottenham.”
Spurs held talks with Chelsea in January to negotiate a move for Gallagher.
While he stayed in West London in the winter, it is believed that Ange Postecoglou’s side still hold concrete interest in a move this summer.

Gallagher’s contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of next season, meaning Mauricio Pochettino’s side would be under pressure to sell the academy graduate if they can’t extend his deal.
Chelsea also need to sell multiple stars before 30 June to avoid PSR breaches and look set to sanction key departures to avoid a potential points deduction.
