Tottenham expert’s verdict on Heung-Min Son being axed v West Ham
Heung-Min Son should not be dropped from the Tottenham starting XI for Wednesday’s (31 August) trip to West Ham.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Son, 30, is yet to score this season while Richarlison made an instant impact by registering an assist off the bench in Sunday’s (28 August) win over Nottingham Forest.
Despite Son’s failure to find the back of the net, Wenham wants to see the attacker in the starting XI against the Hammers.
“I was very pleased with Richarlison’s impact again after coming off the bench,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He played a pivotal role in the win with an outstanding delivery into the box for Harry Kane’s second goal.
“I thought he was a real menace, as he always is. I just think he is a fantastic asset to us as a club, where we can bring him on in a situation like that.
“When a team’s centre-backs are on yellow cards, there is no attacker you would rather have on the pitch than Richarlison.
“He causes so many problems and has the quality to do it. It showed he can perform at the top level. I’m pleased for him.
“Some people are hoping Son is dropped for him on Wednesday because of his form, he is struggling a bit.

“But, for me, Sonny is a player where you have to play him into form and he loves a goal against West Ham, he has scored a couple at the London Stadium.
“I would keep Son in there, knowing we have Richarlison who can change the game if we need to.”
