Tottenham fans go berserk at ‘one-trick pony’ who was ‘absolutely terrible’ vs Brentford
Tottenham fans are fuming with Mohammed Kudus after his lacklustre showing in their 0-0 draw with Brentford on New Year’s Day.
Tottenham started 2026 with a bore draw at Brentford as the pressure continues to mount on Thomas Frank due to their uninspiring and tepid recent performances.
His former employers came closest to breaking the deadlock through chances for Keane Lewis-Potter and Igor Thiago in the second-half, with Spurs only able to create 0.86 expected goals (xG) all evening.
Kudus shone against Brentford last month as Tottenham won the reverse fixture 2-0, but his showing in West London summed up everything that is wrong with their play right now.
Frank could soon be sacked by Spurs if their performances don’t improve, with the club now sitting 12th in the Premier League after winning just two of their last 10 league outings.

Kudus was poor against Brentford despite promising performance last month
Kudus did not score or assist against the Bees in December, but he emerged from Spurs’ 2-0 win with more chances created than any other player (2), the most dribbles completed (5), 92 per cent pass accuracy (34/37) and eight ground duels won.
He once again failed to provide a goal contribution on New Year’s Day, but his all-round performance was also poor as they could only muster three shots on target as a team and failed to create a big chance.
The Ghanaian playmaker was left on for the full 90 minutes, despite not creating one chance from the right-wing, as well as having just two touches in the Brentford penalty area.
Dribbling is Kudus’ best attribute, yet he completed just two of six attempted dribbles on Thursday night, while he was also dispossessed five times and won just three of his 13 ground duels, with the 10 lost being the most of any player on the pitch.
Tottenham fans fume at ‘frustrating’ Kudus for his ineffective Brentford display
Tottenham are about to sell Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace, but many fans will have wished he was available to come off the bench against Brentford to save them from watching Kudus on the right flank.
The 25-year-old has been a key man for the club since his summer move from West Ham, but has now scored and assisted just one goal each in his last 11 league appearances, which is not good enough.
Many Tottenham supporters took to X to fume at him after the Bees clash, with one saying: “Kudus (is) a one trick pony, and that trick doesn’t work anymore…another average signing.”
Another added: “Already sick of Kudus strolling about. Can see exactly why West ham fans (weren’t) bothered about him going.”
While one said: “Kudus has to be the most frustrating player in the league, can’t remember the last time he beat a man. Receive ball, shield, shield, shield, back to Porro, run away & repeat.”
