Tottenham showed their dominance over Swansea in the sixth round of the FA Cup on Saturday, booking their place in the semi-final of the world’s oldest and most prestigious cup competition with a 3-0 win.

It hasn’t been an easy route into the semi-final by any stretch of the imagination with two legs needed against League One minnows Rochdale, as well as a struggle against Newport County.

But Mauricio Pochettino’s side came through both eventually to set up the quarter-final clash against the Swans.

Despite missing top scorer Harry Kane, the Lillywhites were a constant threat and it wasn’t long before Christian Eriksen gave Poch’s side an early lead in the 11th minute.

Then, in the highlight of the game, Erik Lamela added a brilliant second on the brink of half-time with a run from the centre of the park and a cool shot from the edge of the area, ending Swansea’s dreams of a trip to Wembley.

The Dane then added a third just with thirty minutes remaining.

And Tottenham fans were delighted with the display of Lamela, who has found himself in and out of the starting XI following a long-term injury, with just three Premier League starts since his return.

But with Mousa Dembele rested, the winger was Pochettino’s go-to guy in the win and he didn’t disappoint.
