Tottenham fans really need to see what Chelsea fans are all saying about Conor Gallagher’s £35m move
Conor Gallagher has angered the Chelsea fans who used to love him after his move to rivals Tottenham from Atletico Madrid was confirmed on Wednesday.
Gallagher joined Chelsea at the age of six and spent 13 years in their academy before going out on numerous loans to Charlton, Swansea, West Brom and Crystal Palace.
His impressive form at the latter saw him trusted to make his first team debut for the Blues in August 2022, and he quickly became a regular, going on to make 45 appearances that season.
Gallagher continued to star for his boyhood club in 2023-24, but was told by Enzo Maresca that he was not part of his plans ahead of last season.
Chelsea sold Gallagher to Atletico Madrid in August 2024, and he is now back in the Premier League after 18 months away, but with their capital rivals Tottenham.

Gallagher has moved to Tottenham from Atletico Madrid
A return to English football for the 25-year-old has been on the cards, after Football Insider revealed in November that Man United had set their sights on signing Gallagher in January.
Gallagher wanted to join Tottenham, however, and they have now captured his signature after hijacking Aston Villa‘s move to sign him this week.
Tottenham announced the arrival of Gallagher on a five-and-a-half year deal on Wednesday, with reports stating that they have paid Atletico around £34.7m for his services.
The England international had only made four La Liga starts for Diego Simeone’s side prior to the move, and has stated that he is “so happy and excited” to join Spurs, while he wants to “create special moments and memories together.”
Chelsea fans are fuming with Gallagher joining one of their biggest rivals
Gallagher was one of Chelsea’s own, and in a time of huge investment into the playing squad, their fans loved the fact that he had emerged from their academy to be a regular first team starter.
He even captained his boyhood club amid injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell, and his exit was not well-received after supporters felt he had been treated poorly by Maresca.
18 months on, and those sentiments have changed somewhat, with many Chelsea fans now annoyed to see Gallagher joining one of their biggest rivals.
Taking to X, one fan said: “Seeing all the Spurs fans welcome Conor Gallagher to Tottenham makes me sick. ‘Chelsea Since Birth.’ WE MADE A BANNER FOR THIS GUY, HE CAPTAINED THE SQUAD. From now on, all I can see is this,” with a snake emoji.
Another said: “Conor is no longer one of us, he’s joined the enemy and will be treated as such during our final home game.“
While one fan added: “He needs (the) loudest booing when he returns.”
