Tottenham fans savage ‘disgusting’ Micky van de Ven after loss vs Arsenal: ‘Liverpool should stay clear of him’
Tottenham fans have pounced on Micky van de Ven after they saw their team beaten 4-1 at home by Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
The Lilywhites faithful headed into the game full of optimism ahead of Igor Tudor’s first assignment as interim boss, but they were quickly left with a familiar feeling as they were outclassed by their bitter rivals.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both hit braces for the title-chasing visitors, with Randal Kolo Muani the only man to get on the scoresheet for the relegation-threatened hosts.
Van de Ven has gone viral in the aftermath of the game due to footage which appeared to show him ignoring an instruction from Tudor, but the fans have also found many more reasons to savage him.

Tottenham fans issue clear Micky van de Ven warning to Liverpool
Football Insider revealed on Monday that Spurs are lining up potential replacements for Van de Ven and Cristian Romero, in the event that they lose their starting centre-back pairing this summer.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Van de Ven in recent months, as they look to rebuild their backline amid Ibrahima Konate’s imminent exit on a free transfer.
However, they may now think twice about swooping in to try and sign the Dutchman after what Tottenham fans are saying about him following their latest defeat.

The Lilywhites faithful have torn into the 24-year-old on X, with some issuing Liverpool with a warning about his attitude, and others suggesting that they have seen enough of him in their colours.
One fan wrote that it was “disgusting” to see a player with his attitude, while adding that Liverpool should “stay well clear of him if they are smart.”
It was also suggested that the defender “thinks he is too good for Spurs,” while another added that they “hope he enjoys the Championship.”
- @SpursStand: “VDV thinks he should be playing for Real Madrid but performing like he’s ready for the Championship.”
- @berzo12: “Just wild how he’s just given up. Even more wild when we give him the armband.”
- @THFC_EG: “His attitude stunk today.”
How much will Liverpool have to pay to sign Van de Ven?
Football Insider revealed in January that Van de Ven could push for a move away from Tottenham if they continue to struggle in the second half of the season, and that scenario now looks likely to play out.
Liverpool have shown a strong interest in the former Wolfsburg man for several months, as they continue to try and find a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Spurs have previously slapped a £100million price tag on the defender’s head after some strong form in recent years, but their current predicament could force them into accepting a much lower offer.
Relegation has become a genuine possibility for the North Londoners, and if they were to fall to that catastrophic fate, they would surely have to accept a significantly reduced fee for Van de Ven.
The Lilywhites’ issues look set to play directly into the Reds’ hands, but they run the risk of the same attitude problems emerging later down the line if they were to strike a deal.
