'Awful', 'Pure rubbish' - Tottenham fans tear defender to shreds for display v Stoke
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to tear Kieran Trippier to shreds for his performance in the 5-1 win against Stoke at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
Trippier, 27, was brought back into the starting line-up by Mauricio Pochettino ahead of kick-off for Serge Aurier, causing some discontent among the fanbase, and it seems that the doubts were justified due to a lacklustre display despite winning against Stoke.
The former Burnley defender was widely criticised for his performance, with one fan saying:
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Trippier has ZERO awareness #thfc

Trippier has been a mainstay of the Tottenham first-tea this season, making 16 appearances across all competitions and keeping Aurier on the bench.
Many thought that Aurier was brought in to replace Kyle Walker, who left for Manchester City, as the No 1 choice at right-back, but it seems that Pochettino has been impressed enough with Trippier to rely on him more.

Spurs got back to winning ways though with an emphatic win against Stoke.
Ryan Shawcross’ own goal started the scoring before Heung-min Son, Harry Kane twice and Christian Eriksen all managed to find the target to help end what has been a sketchy run of form.
Spurs are now just one point behind Liverpool in the top four, who play Everton on Sunday.
In other Tottenham news, a £22million fee has been agreed for this Spurs target to make a summer transfer.
