Tottenham fans told to ‘get excited’ about potential takeover as ‘huge’ claim made by pundit
Tottenham fans should get excited about potential Qatari investment in their club.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the arrival of new money at Spurs.
CBS reported earlier this month (January 8) that PSG’s Qatari owners, QSI, are hoping to secure minority investment in a Premier League club in 2023.

QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi met with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in London as exploratory talks began over a potential investment.
McManus claims money from the gulf could make Tottenham “serious players” in European football again.
“Which club wouldn’t want this kind of investment?” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Tottenham already have plenty of money, not that they like spending it. So you put Qatari investment in there as well and Tottenham are serious players again.
“That’s what the fans want and if you wave Qatari money around then it’s easy to get excited. The fans will be disappointed if this doesn’t come off now.
“Spurs is a huge club to invest in too. The infrastructure is there and if Qatar were going to eventually own a football club then that’s a great one.
“Best stadium in the world, based in London, world-class training ground, it’s perfect. You don’t really have to develop it, it’s ready-made.

“It was always going to happen, it’s inevitable, Qatar getting involved in the Premier League., this isn’t a surprise.
“I think this will be something we see more of.”
