Erik Lamela responds on Twitter to speculation he will quit Tottenham

Erik Lamela has taken to Twitter to partly scotch rumours he wants to quit Tottenham and said he is missing the club “every minute”.
Football website Squawka claimed on Tuesday that the attacking midfielder was feeling “homesick” and “unsettled in London” and was looking for a move back to Italian club Roma.
The report detailed that the 24-year-old was expected to leave White Hart Lane in the summer and the club would hold out for the £30million they signed him for from Roma in 2013.
Lamela has been in Roma’s training headquarters in recent weeks as he recovers from the hip injury that has ruled him out since October.
The Argentinian has taken to Twitter to clear up his situation and claims he is only in Rome recovering from his injury.
“Missing White Hart Lane every minute. Thanks to all of those who encourage me day by day. Just to be clear, I am in Roma at the moment recovering from an injury and not for any other thing that is not to do with football,” Lamela wrote on his personal Twitter account.
The Telegraph have claimed that Lamela has been struggling to get over the death of his pet dog Simba during his rehabilitation.
Lamela has not featured since the 25th October in the EFL Cup fourth-round defeat to Liverpool.
The right winger had been in good form before his hip injury, scoring two goals and supplying seven assists from the 14 appearances that he made in the opening 10 weeks of the season.
He has expressed his desire to return to full fitness and get playing again for the north London club, but may face a tough battle to get back into Mauricio Pochettino’s starting line-up.
Spurs are flying high with six wins from seven league matches to become one of the main title challengers to leaders Chelsea.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are eyeing a £34million-rated defender.
