Tottenham gem Alfie Dorrington set for move after approaches made – sources
Tottenham are planning to loan out rising star Alfie Dorrington to a Football League club next season, sources have told Football Insider.
Multiple EFL clubs have registered their interest in a season-long loan deal for the defender after his impressive performances for Spurs Under-21s in Premier League 2.
Dorrington, 19, made 19 appearances for the club’s U-21s last season as he helped them lift the PL2 title, defeating Sunderland in the play-off final.
Ange Postecoglou is keen for the young centre-back to gain regular senior playing experience next season with a view to stepping up into the first team.
Alfie Dorrington set for EFL loan away from Tottenham
Dorrington is yet to be handed his senior debut under Postecoglou, but featured in matchday squads as he was named on the bench 11 times in the just-finished season.
He joined Spurs aged 13 and progressed through the academy, during which time he featured for the club’s under-18s while still a schoolboy.

The defender has also been capped by England through the youth ranks from Under-15s to Under-19s levels, having made seven appearances for the Under-19s most recently.
A move to an EFL club would allow him his first experience in senior football to continue his positive development towards the Tottenham first team.
In other news, Spurs are plotting to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi early in the summer window.
