Tottenham have new No 1 target with Richarlison set to leave in January, £52m bid will be accepted

Tottenham have their eyes fixed firmly on a move for Juventus star Gleison Bremer ahead of the January transfer window.

The Lilywhites slipped to yet another home defeat this weekend as they were beaten 2-1 by Fulham in a result that takes them into the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Tottenham fans have been raging at Thomas Frank in the aftermath of the team’s latest defeat, as the pressure on the boss continues to mount just months into his reign in N17.

The January transfer window could potentially be crucial to the remainder of the campaign for Frank and his men, and their list of targets has already been drawn up.

Juventus to consider Gleison Bremer sale for over £52m

Football Insider revealed at the start of November that Tottenham are happy to let Richarlison leave in the January window, but there are also plans to bring new faces through the door.

Bremer has emerged as a clear target for the North Londoners in the weeks leading up to the window, as Frank eyes reinforcements to a backline that has shipped plenty of goals recently.

The Tottenham hierarchy have outlined that defensive additions are a “top priority” in January, according to CaughtOffside.

Bremer has been one of their ideal targets for the centre of the defence, and he has now “risen to the top of their shortlist” as a result of his dominance and aerial power.

However, the Brazilian is under contract with Juventus until the summer of 2028, and it’s understood that they will demand in excess of £52million for their star.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also “closely monitoring” Bremer’s situation, but Juventus are only likely to consider a sale unless an “irresistible” offer comes in for him.

Tottenham won’t want to block Luka Vuskovic progress

Tottenham have huge hopes for Luka Vuskovic in the coming years as he continues to impress with some stunning performances during his latest loan spell for Hamburg.

The 18-year-old played a part with the senior squad during their pre-season campaign, and Frank was close to keeping him around at the club in the end.

With that in mind, there is surely a place in the first-team squad reserved for him for next season, and Spurs must be wary of blocking his pathway into the group by bringing in another defender.

Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are a big-name partnership that Frank doesn’t regularly split up, so if another name arrived in the pecking order, then it would only serve to provide another hurdle for Vuskovic to clear.

Tottenham’s desire to strengthen immediately is admirable, but they must avoid impeding the growth of their future star at all costs.
