Tottenham player ratings v Southampton: Key duo suspect with 5/10 displays as Kane stars
Forwards
Christian Eriksen – 7: The Danish midfielder was crucial to opening the scoring with what was a fierce but accurate free kick from the edge of the box. His passing was excellent throughout and he was tenacious in helping out his defenders.
Son Heung-min – 6: Not a sensational first half, but made up for his lack of contribution with a well taken strike early in the second half. As always, ran and ran to wear the Southampton back line out, before seeing himself replaced by Erik Lamela.
Harry Kane – 9: The record breaker may not have had an easier goal to score all year than the opener, as Southampton gifted him the opportunity to head home from two yards out thanks to their woeful defending. His second was not much more difficult, as he tapped the ball into the net from close range, although this time under a bit more pressure, while his hat trick was a sublime chip.
