Bournemouth ‘doing everything’ to block Eli Junior Kroupi completing Tottenham move
Bournemouth have no plans to sell Eli Junior Kroupi as Tottenham line up a hefty bid for his services, sources have told Football Insider.
20-year-old Kroupi shone in his first season at Bournemouth following a summer move from Lorient.
The French youth international broke the Premier League record for the most goals scored by a teenager in a debut campaign, with 13 in 33 games.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, the Cherries are standing by their hefty valuation of Kroupi in attempt to dissuade Spurs from making an offer.
Recent reports have stated that they want over £85million to agree to a move, just a year on from signing him for around £12m.
Eli Junior Kroupi to Spurs could be stopped by Bournemouth's valuation
Tottenham have already spent big in the summer window, with £100m splashed out on Sandro Tonali and a further £85m on Mateus Fernandes.
They have already snapped up Marcos Senesi after he left Bournemouth at the end of his contract, but another raid of the south coast club will be tough to complete.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Kroupi is somebody that they're (Spurs) definitely interested in, whether they can pull it off or not, it's going to be very difficult, there's no doubt about that.
"Bournemouth are doing everything they can to keep hold of the player. They've put a huge price tag on his head as well."
What is the latest on Richarlison's future at Spurs?
Tottenham striker Richarlison has been linked away from the club over the last few months, with reports of a transfer accelerating as they target Kroupi.
The Brazilian striker missed out on their World Cup squad after scoring 12 goals in 43 appearances for the club last season.
Tottenham have reportedly received a bid from an unnamed Turkish club for his services, but the offer now seems unlikely to progress.
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Everton are not set to move for Richarlison this summer, despite previous talk of a return to Merseyside.
