Conor Gallagher was one of the standout players when Tottenham Hotspur picked up their first league victory of 2026, with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in the winter window, his performances have been mixed at best.

The midfielder has simply not got going and has regularly struggled for the Lilywhites.

However, since Roberto De Zerbi’s arrival, he has started to shine, and arguably had his best performance yet against Wolves.

Now, with Tottenham fighting to stay in the Premier League, Gallagher could be the player to make the difference.

While the performance was far from a classic, many of their stars did exactly what they needed to do to ensure the three points were theirs.

One of the best displays came from Gallagher, who had an impact in all areas of the pitch.

According to Fotmob on 27 April, he completed 94 per cent of his passes, created two chances, completed all of his dribbles and long balls, as well as making eight recoveries.

As a result, his performance was a key factor in ensuring that Spurs were not cut adrift in the bottom three going into the final games.

Now, if Gallagher can keep these displays up, he could prove to be the difference between staying in the Premier League and getting relegated this season.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Everton are pursuing Gallagher ahead of the summer.

Everton are prioritising the capture of a new central midfielder, and have identified the Tottenham star as an option.

David Moyes is said to be a big admirer of the England international, and there is a feeling that Spurs could allow him to depart just months after signing for the club.

The Toffees are interested in pursuing a loan deal, most likely with an obligation to buy in 2027, rather than a permanent deal.

However, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will be allow Gallagher to depart, especially if he proves to be the difference between survival and relegation over the next few matches.
