Tottenham to sell Dominic Solanke for '£50m' in last-gasp trio of exits - expert

Dominic Solanke could be the first of three big names sold by Tottenham Hotspur in the remaining days of the summer window.

That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that Spurs would want £50million for the striker's signature.

Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that Roberto De Zerbi's side view Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta as an upgrade in attack.

Although Solanke notched 16 goals and eight assists in his first season in North London, he has since seriously struggled with staying fit.

He started just 11 Premier League games in 2025-26, and with a lot of money spent by Spurs in this window, the 28-year-old could be sacrificed.

Richarlison's future is also up in the air amid links with an emotional return to Everton, while Lucas Bergvall is yet to secure an exit despite making his intentions clear ages ago.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson expects all three to depart the club before the summer window slams shut, though finding buyers could be difficult.

"As for other sales, I think they'll probably sell Lucas Bergvall, but it won't be easy to sell," he said.

With Richarlison, I think they're talking about £40million. Again, even with the striker valuation uplift that we have right now, the premium, it's going be very hard to find a buyer for for that player at that price.

"What would you get for [Dominic] Solanke? You might get £50m, maybe. It's not easy to see where these players go though.

"Who's got £50m to spend? I say it very sort of simplistically, but if you if you go away and spend that kind of money, really you have to qualify."

Who could sign Solanke this summer?

Football Insider revealed during the 2025-26 campaign that Newcastle United were eyeing a deal for the former Bournemouth star.

Nottingham Forest have also been linked with the centre-forward, but with a move for Liam Delap now on the cards, a revival looks unlikely.

A swap deal with Palace might not seem like the most outrageos suggestion either, given Mateta's links and his unhappiness at Selhurst Park.

Outside of them, Spurs might have to hope that a European club come knocking for his signature, or possibly even a big spender in Saudi Arabia.
