Tottenham's 'next move' tipped to be Jarrod Bowen - ex-Spurs scout

Tottenham will look to sign a new centre-forward as their next move this summer after completing three defender signings.

That is according to former Tottenham senior scout, Bryan King, who exclusively told Football Insider that Jarrod Bowen could be a consideration.

The Lilywhites signed Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson on free transfers earlier this month, before paying £52million to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

Tottenham are not thought to be done there, with several other key positions of priority yet to be addressed this summer.

Roberto De Zerbi arrived in North London in March and appears to have represented a dramatic change in the attitude of those above him.

The Italian's team survived relegation from the Premier League on the final day and will now look to return the Lilywhites back towards the top end of the table.

Bryan King tips Tottenham for Jarrod Bowen move

Bowen's future remains very much up in the air this summer. West Ham's relegation has put the 29-year-old among numerous potential departures, with several Premier League clubs thought to be interested.

The England international scored nine goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League last season and remains a dangerous option for any team.

The Hammers are thought to want around £50m to sell the winger but it remains to be seen whether Bowen would accept a move to Tottenham, which would be seen as a betrayal by many fans.

"They've [Tottenham] just bought a new defender, I would have thought centre-forward would have been next priority, the next move, to be honest," King told Football Insider.

"You're not going to bring Harry Kane back yet. So, where do you go? Do you go to West Ham for Jarrod Bowen?"

Asked whether the move would be too controversial, the former Tottenham scout said: "Well, you say that, but going back in the past, Martin Peters has come this way, Jimmy Greaves went the other way.

"You know, controversy is controversy. As long as the results are good, people don't care, to be honest."

Tottenham hold long-term Bowen interest

When Bowen was still at Hull City in 2019, Tottenham were reportedly among the clubs willing to pay £15m for him.

The winger had scored 16 goals in just 29 Championship appearances and was just 22 at the time.

West Ham ultimately beat them to the punch, but the links have continued throughout the England international's time at the London Stadium.

Should Tottenham make a serious move for Bowen this summer, those links could finally come to fruition.
