Tottenham idol ‘worried’ after Hugo Lloris ‘hurt’ revealed
Paul Robinson has claimed Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was “outsmarted” by Brighton’s Graham Potter on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-White Hart Lane number one said Spurs’ performance was “slightly worrying” on Saturday.
Spurs missed the chance to strengthen their grip on fourth spot after slipping to a 1-0 defeat to the Seagulls at home.
As quoted by Football.London (17 April), club captain revealed what “hurts the most” about his side’s abject display was the fact they could have “thrown away” all their recent hard work.
However, Spurs remain in the driving seat for fourth spot after Arsenal’s loss at Southampton.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the performance, Robinson said: “The performance was slightly worrying.
“It just shows how inconsistent Spurs are this season. The Villa game wasn’t a 4-0 game but the front three were outstanding. They didn’t replicate that against Brighton. The whole team were off it.
“They simply couldn’t break Brighton down. You have to give Brighton credit though. They had a game plan and executed it perfectly.
“Graham Potter got it tactically spot on and he outsmarted Conte on the day. Spurs didn’t know what to do. They couldn’t find a way through.
“It was a chance missed for Spurs because they could have gone clear of Arsenal.”

Speaking after the defeat, Lloris said: “What hurts me the most is, we have suffered so much, and to arrive in this position, it is not the moment to throw away what we have built in the last few weeks.
“We received a lot of kicks during the season and it is not the time to give this lift to our rivals.”
In other news, Robinson has told Tottenham to U-turn on Giovani Lo Celso after source’s £30million update.
