Tottenham in ‘race’ to sign goal machine, £35m will seal deal

Tottenham have joined Everton and West Ham in tracking £35million-rated in-form Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju ahead of the January window.

Midtjylland forward Franculino Dju has scored 19 goals and notched three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this season.

West Ham are reportedly eyeing a January move for Franculino with Niclas Fullkrug set to leave in the same month, with the Danish side’s regular season set to end on 7 December.

Everton have been linked to Franculino in the past, and recent reports have stated that any club that wants to sign him will have to submit a Superliga record fee, which would need to exceed £22million plus £4million in add-ons.

The 21-year-old is certainly in form, with 10 goals in his last nine outings, and Tottenham are the latest Premier League side to register their interest in his services.

Tottenham join Franculino chase alongside Roma

According to a new report from Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, Franculino is being targeted by Tottenham ahead of January, with Midtjylland valuing him at €40million (£35m).

Their report comes about because Serie A giants Roma are also interested in the 21-year-old, with sporting director Ricky Massara set to “closely evaluate” him when the two sides face off in the Europa League on Thursday (27 November) at the Stadio Olimpico.

Franculino scored regularly as Midtjylland won the Danish Superliga in 2023-24, then again last term as they finished second and reached the knockout phase of the Europa League, with his strong form continuing once again this season.

Richarlison could be on his way out of Spurs in January

Tottenham have struggled for goals in the opening stages of this campaign under Thomas Frank, so it is no surprise to see them linked to a player of Franculino’s talent and potential.

The versatile forward is unproven in a top European league, but would certainly add a new dimension to Frank’s striker options, with Dominic Solanke still out injured and Richarlison and Randal Kolo-Muani both struggling for form.

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham are willing to let Richarlison leave in January to make way for a new striker signing.

Everton have been mooted to re-sign Richarlison as they aim to add to their forward options, and considering their previous interest in Franculino, that could open Spurs up to go for the Guinea-Bissau international and improve their forward line.
