‘Tottenham in spotlight for Morgan Gibbs-White deal after Man City cool interest’
Tottenham could be the club to step up in the race for Morgan Gibbs-White following an update on Man City’s interest in the Nottingham Forest star.
The attacking midfielder enjoyed an excellent season with Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side, helping them qualify for the UEFA Conference League and reach the semi finals of the FA Cup.
Although Gibbs-White was initially overlooked by new England manager Thomas Tuchel, his form has now earned him a place in the Three Lions squad, as well as attracting transfer interest from elsewhere.
In the lead-up to the summer, Man City have been heavily credited with an interest the Nottingham Forest ace, as they weighed up potential replacements for Kevin De Bruyne.

Morgan Gibbs-White has new admirers
In the wake of those links with a move to Pep Guardiola‘s side, it appears there is now a potential alternative destination in the Premier League for the 25-year-old.
According to an update from the Daily Mail, Man City have now cooled their interest in Gibbs-White, due to the £70million valuation Nottingham Forest have placed on him.
It is stated that while that could prompt him to sign a new deal at The City Ground with a release clause that works in his favour, there is also a chance that he could look for another Champions League club.
With that in mind, Tottenham are noted as one to watch out for in terms of interest in the England international and could now come into focus.
Spurs have of course qualified for the Champions League for next season after lifting the Europa League title.
Having recently sacked Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham are understood to be closing in on Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their new manager.

Tottenham move would be a risk for Nottingham Forest star
Football Insider Verdict
With Man City having completed the signing of Rayan Cherki from Lyon they have boosted their options in attacking midfield.
It is therefore understandable they do not want to pay such a big fee for another option in that position, regardless of how good Gibbs-White is.
That does mean the Nottingham Forest man may have to look for a move elsewhere this summer if he wants to play Champions League football next season.
But given how poor Tottenham were in the Premier League in the most recent campaign, they will surely face a big task if they want to reach the latter stages in Europe next time round.
It is also worth noting that the Europa League was their first trophy in 17 years, so there is no guarantee this move will bring silverware either.
As a result, Gibbs-White ought to be aware of the gamble he would be taking if he is to make a move to Tottenham.
