Tottenham insider: Clubs ‘queuing up’ to sign ‘incredible’ Markanday in January

There will be a queue of clubs waiting to take Tottenham starlet Dilan Markanday on loan in January.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Markanday, 20, has been in fine form for the Tottenham Under 23s this season, bagging 11 goals in 12 Premier League 2 games.

His efforts were recognised by the league as he was awarded the player of the month award for October.

Wenham insists the striker is too good for development football and claimed Spurs won’t have trouble finding a club ready to take him.

“Markanday could have won last month’s award as well,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I’m glad he has been recognised for his incredible form, he just keeps scoring.

“He’s another player who needs a loan move in January, he’s too good for Under 23 football.

“He needs to prove himself playing in League One and hopefully he will get that chance.

“There are a queue of clubs wanting to take him so Tottenham can take thier pick really.

“Hopefully they can find a team that suits him so he has the best chance to develop.”

Markanday scored on Friday night as Tottenham’s Under 23s dispatched Everton Under 23s with a 4-0 win.

This was the youth side’s second big win this week after beating Leicester Under 23s 4-1 on Monday.
