Tottenham insider ‘gutted’ by what he ‘spotted’ from Dejan Kulusevski after Harry Kane winner v Man City
Dejan Kulusevski didn’t celebrate Harry Kane’s winning goal for Tottenham against Man City for fear of it being ruled out.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Kulusevski, 21, opened his Tottenham account with his side’s first goal in a 3-2 win over Man City on Saturday (19 February).
He also provided the assist for Harry Kane’s late winner but did not immediately celebrate with his teammates.
The winger had been flagged for offside as Kane had another goal ruled out by VAR earlier in the game.
Wenham was frustrated to see Kulusevski’s reaction to his new side’s winner but was delighted with his performance.
“Kulusevski is clearly fitter than the players he replaced, he scored in the first five minutes then got an assist in the last moments of the game,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I was absolutely delighted with him. What is that first goal going to do for Kulusevski’s confidence?
“He’s scored his first goal in an absolutely massive game for Tottenham. He was outstanding and he seems a snip at the price we paid.
“He has huge potential. What was really frustrating was he didn’t celebrate our third goal, I spotted that.
“I think the reason he didn’t celebrate was allegedly offside for Kane’s disallowed goal, he celebrated that one.

“I think he felt he couldn’t join in those celebrations for fear of it being ruled out again. I was gutted for him.
“That was a real shame because I wasn’t him to feel a part of this squad after making such a bright start to life here.”
