Tottenham insider unhappy with Dele Alli after social media posts

John Wenham has ripped into Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli after his blizzard of recent social media posts.

Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, wants Alli to focus on his football rather than his image.

Alli, 25, was handed a two-minute cameo at the end of Tottenham’s win over Leeds.

This was his first outing under new boss Antonio Conte.

Wenham wants Alli to try and recover his previous form instead of bragging about new brand deals on Instagram.

“Throughout last week I saw multiple Instagram posts from him,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He was launching new clothes collections and saying things like ‘finally playing with the professionals’ and he was with E-Sport players.

“A lot of that stuff doesn’t do anything for me as a fan.

“I look back to how good he was. He was winning PFA awards and scoring 18 Premier League goals from midfield.

“That’s the Dele Alli I want to see. I don’t want to see adverts for Boohoo man and him playing E-Sports.

“I think it was interesting he came on, even if it was for two minutes.

“It will be equally interesting to see how he gets on over the next few weeks.”

Alli has made 13 total appearances this season and scored two goals.

He hasn’t started in the Premier League since he was hauled off after 45 minutes in his side’s dismal display against Arsenal on 26 September.
