Tottenham likely to be working on Luke McNally double deal after club source’s reveal – expert

Luke McNally will immediately be loaned to the Championship if Tottenham sign him from Oxford United.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Football Insider revealed Tottenham’s interest in McNally, 22, on 31 March.

It is understood Spurs have been assessing the centre-back recently and are set to send scouts to regularly watch him up until the end of the season.

However, a source also revealed a bid of £2million has already been submitted by a rival club.

Wenham insists this deal is risk-free for Spurs.

“He’s not a player I know too much about, he’s not ever been on my radar,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But if we can pick him up for a low fee, I would be all for it. I have absolutely no problem with that.

“Pick him up, whack him out on loan to the Championship for a season and see how he does.

“I have no problem with those kinds of signings. There is very little risk on our end.

“Let’s see if we can get this one done because it sounds like there are a few teams in for him.”

McNally has made 29 appearances for Oxford this season and he has four goals to his name.

He joined the club in January 2021, leaving Irish outfit St Patrick’s Athletic.
