Tottenham in line to receive seven-figure fee if potential PL transfer is completed – report

Tottenham are in line to receive £5million if Gylfi Sigurdsson completes a £50million transfer from Swansea to Everton this summer, according to a report.

The Times claim Mauricio Pochettino’s side are set to earn 10 per cent of any potential fee that would see Sigurdsson leave the Liberty Stadium this summer after Spurs put a sell-on clause in the deal which saw him leave White Hart Lane three years a go.

It is even said that Tottenham themselves considered bringing the Iceland international ace back to the club at the end of the last season.

However, Swansea’s mega price-tag is said to have deterred them as the Welsh club are strongly holding out for £50million this summer.

Everton are also having some problems in negotiations with Swansea and Tottenham are likely to have an added interest in the saga given the cash they are to receive.

Sigurdsson completed a move to north London in the summer of 2012 from Hoffenheim for a fee of £8.8million.

But, after just two years, 83 appearances and 13 goals for the club he was heading for the exit doors to Swansea as part of the deal which saw Ben Davies and Michel Vorm head in the opposite direction.

The potential cash received from Sigurdsson’s transfer would provide some further funds to Tottenham as they look to bring in their own players following the departure of star Kyle Walker for a massive initial £45million.
