Tottenham backed to complete signing of player Thomas Frank loves, he wants the move

Tottenham have been impressed with several of their new signings after a stellar start to the 2025-26 campaign.

Whilst Thomas Frank has been impressed by his new additions, he is stills struggling to shift dead weight with sources telling Football Insider on 7 September that Yves Bissouma wants to quit Tottenham.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Everton and West Ham are leading the race to sign Bissouma to strengthen their midfields.

However, the Toffees’ former chief Keith Wyness told Football Insider that West Ham will beat Everton to Bissouma as he prefers to stay in London.

Joao Palhinha continues to impress as Tottenham eye up permanent transfer

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Spurs are strongly considering bringing the Portuguese midfielder to north London on a permanent deal.

Frank praised Joao Palhinha after he netted in the Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Doncaster in the League Cup [24 September], stating: “Joao’s been very good for us since he joined.” (The Independent, 25 September).

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast over the Lilywhites’ action plan with the ex-Fulham man, I explained: “I think there was obviously the option there for Tottenham to make that deal permanent. And the good thing for them is that Palhinha has had an instant impact since his arrival in North London.

“As you said, he’s even contributed a couple of goals already this season, which he’s not normally known for.

“But yeah, I think his time at Bayern Munich remains very much uncertain right now. He struggled in his first season at the German club last year and obviously Bayern were willing to loan him out this year.

“It’s the £26million buy option in there for Tottenham and again that seems quite reasonable, the transfer fee as well and if he continues to make the impact that he’s had already it would be a no-brainer you would think for Tottenham to make that permanent arrangement.

“And I’m sure Palhinha himself will be very much interested in returning to the Premier League on a permanent basis.

“So, Palhinha right now just wants to continue focus on staying fit and enjoying his football with Tottenham.

“I think if he continues to become a key man in Thomas Frank’s team, I’m sure Tottenham will be more than happy to take up that option and sign him.”

Harry Kane could join Palhinha by swapping Bayern Munich for Tottenham

Sources told Football Insider on 26 September that Tottenham are working on a shock return for Harry Kane.

It has now been three seasons since the Englishman left north London and the Danish manager has stated he would be open to the striker coming home.

At 32-years-old Kane is just leaving his prime years and with his contract at Bayern Munich running until June 2027, he could soon head back to where it all began.

The former club captain would have definitely been watching Palhinha’s uptick in form since arriving back in London and may be considering the same move for himself.
