Tottenham loan-to-buy offer for Gleison Bremer expected after £42m update – expert

If Tottenham sign Gleison Bremer or Stephane Singo from Torino this summer it will be on a loan-to-buy basis.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

According to The Sun ( 21 April, Tottenham are lining up a £42million double swoop for Torino duo Bremer, 25, and Singo, 21.

Bremer, who Wenham names as the “more likely” signing, is a right-footed centre-back who can play on either side of a central defensive pairing while Singo is a right-back who can push up when needed.

Spurs’ current right-back, Emerson Royal. has failed to impress this season following his big-money move from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.

Wenham insists any deal will be on a loan-to-buy basis with the club already set to pay the final fee for Juventus loanee Cristian Romero this summer.

“Bremer seems to be one everyone is watching, AC Milan, Inter Milan,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He has played a lot of minutes for Torino this season so he looks to be an important player for them.

“Again, you hope Paratici has scouted him before with his extensive knowledge of the Serie A.

“I think he’s the more likely of the two signings. I know very little about Singo other than he is an Ivory Coast international.

“Right wing-back is an issue that has blighted us this season and Royal’s performance against Brentford showed that.

“One thing to say here is I think if either of these deals happens it will be a loan to buy because we already have to shell out a big fee for Cristian Romero this summer.”
