‘Tottenham make move to sign Jack Grealish’ amid £300,000-a-wk reveal

Jack Grealish could leave Manchester City this summer if any interested parties are willing to match his high wage demands.

The England international has slipped down the pecking order at the Etihad after starting in just 16 of his 31 appearances this season, where he’s registered three goals and five assists.

Football Insider revealed on 11 March Man City will accept an offer for Grealish in the summer transfer window if their reduced asking price is met.

The 29-year-old joined Pep Guardiola’s side in a £100million deal from Aston Villa in 2021.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed on 7 May Saudi Pro League clubs are considering making a move to sign Grealish this summer.

However, former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider he doesn’t believe the winger would be keen on a move to Saudi at this stage of his career.

Grealish is under contract until 2027, with his deal believed to be worth around £300,000 a week at the Etihad.

Jack Grealish to make transfer decision after Saudi swoop

Borson insisted he doesn’t believe Napoli would be in the running for Grealish after they have also been credited with an interest in signing him.

He told Football Insider: “There are not many teams around that can afford to pay him the wages he’s on at the moment.

“So, you’re then into that small group of clubs that could feasibly do the deal. I don’t see that Napoli would be one of them.

“But you would also expect that City would not be anticipating a huge fee if they could get him off the wage bill, given that he’s barely played all season and he’s on in excess of £300,000 a week, so in excess of £15million a year.

“That would fit with Saudi, but the question clearly for Grealish is whether he’s prepared at this stage of his career to go to Saudi Arabia.

“You would think almost certainly not, so that will probably leave if there’s anybody in the Premier League that would be interested.

“We know that Spurs have shown an interest in the player.

“But again, the question is, how does that work from a financial perspective given that they’re not going to pay him £300,000 a week either.”

Man City lead Liverpool in race to sign Andrea Cambiaso

Football Insider revealed on 2 May Man City are leading Liverpool in the race to sign Andrea Cambiaso this summer.

If Juventus fail to qualify for the Champions League, they will be forced to sell players to raise funds and would accept £40-50million for the full-back.

Cambiaso can play on both sides of the defence and was a top target for Man City in the January transfer window.
